Doctors and Cake

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 6:58 pm

Humm where to start. I guess I will start with the doctors appointment. I actually gained weight!! A lot too. I was so surprised, and happy. I made up for last week as well. I think it was all those cupcakes I ate on Sunday night.

Will went to the appointment with me, which was nice because we had to do an unexpected ultra sound. I am still measuring small, and did not grow from last week. Don’t worry everything is ok. The baby is measuring 34 weeks instead of the 37 1/2 she should be. The doctor said that we just have small kids. If her head was measuring different from her body, then she would be worried, but she looks fine. She is 5 lbs 2 oz right now, and the doc said that she might even get to be 6 lbs when I have her. It was fun to be able to see Seirra’s face. I know she is in there, but it is different seeing her.

Here was our inspiration for the costume. This is Dr. Lawrence. She is a really good doctor for me. She is the no nonsense, but still really nice about everything kind. We asked her if we could get a picture with Jason and her and she was so excited to do it. She then said, “Ok well we need to get you a mask, a surgeons hat, some booties, and something to put in your pockets” (tongue depressors, she even drew faces on them for Jason). She was so excited it was so funny. So Jason truly is a doctor, with all the trimmings.

For my appointments I have to lay down and they lift up my shirt to hear the heartbeat and to measure my belly. Well Jason always wants to do it to, so Will played doctor while we were waiting and listened to Jason’s belly with his toy stethoscope. Jason was so excited and had Will listen for a good 5 min. He would get frustrated when he would stop. Silly kid!

Will entered me into a cake decorating contest at his work. It was Halloween themed of course and well this is what we came up with.

Will even got in on the action and helped create the house on top. I have to say this is my favorite cake that I have made so far. I love how it turned out and I usually don’t say that about my own work.

There were 17 cakes entered in the contest. They all are so different. I would say that there are 4 or 5 cakes that have a really good shot at winning. There was a coffin made with modeling chocolate, a spider, and a mummy that all looked really cool.

We will find out who wins later today. All employees go through look at the cakes, vote, and eat the one they want. Although it was pretty sad, no one has touched my cake or the other good looking ones. I guess they are just afraid to cut into them. I really don’t want to take home that much cake, yikes! Well I figure even if I don’t win, it was still really fun to make!

Here is just a random picture I took at Will’s work today while we were waiting to eat lunch.

Look for it after lunch (Will entered me into a Halloween cake contest at his work.) I have to go check out my competition. I do have to say this is my favorite cake that I have made so far. Will’s Surprise Blog: More Yums

Yesterday Kristin made me some chicken, brocolli, and mashed potatoes for dinner. They were the best mashed potatoes EVER. I think she had a bowl of Honeycomb for dinner, which made me start thinking . . .
I didn’t really mean to make other people feel bad if they didn’t cook their husbands favorite foods. Sure, my wife does and that’s really great. On the other hand, I would s-t-a-r-v-e if I had to eat from Kristin’s menu. She really is the pickiest eater I know. There would be no potatoes, tomatoes, ground beef, onions, peppers, fish, plus a million other things. Basically I’m bored here at work, just waiting for Sierra’s next appt. Well, that’s all I have to say.

Leaves

Who knew leaves were so much fun! I guess you forget what is fun when you get older. It is fun to see the simple things that make Jason’s day.

Dates, Pumpkins, Games

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 2:45 pm

This is a full blog of pictures today. It was quite busy again this weekend, big surprise. I planned for Will and I to have a free night and morning with out Jason. You know before we have 2 kids that we have to take care of. So we dropped Jason off with Mickie and Matt.

Cramming 3 dates into one was pretty fun.
  • We ate at applebee’s
  • Went mini-golfing (I forgot a jacket, so I was a little cold. The good news was that with just Will and I it only takes 40 min or so to golf a full 18 holes. How weird is that.) It was a great course. We have decided that the only place to go mini-golfing is at an actual golf course. They have the best courses.
  • We then bought a bunk bed for Jason at Ikea, but had to promptly return it because it would not fit in our car. We were 4 inches shy of it fitting. We will have Matt and Mickie help us transport the bed for us. That store is huge, so people gave Will and I a few strange looks while he was pushing the cart and I was straddling the bed in my boots and skirt. (For my defence I rarely wear heals and my feet were killing me)
  • And last but not least we headed to the dollar theater (yeah we are big spenders) and watched Stardust. That was a great movie. I think that we will end up buying that one. They all did such a great job in the movie.
  • We then sleep in with no interruptions. It was great! I do feel bad for Matt and Mickie. Jason sleep in their room, and by 6 am he was ready to wake up. He never wakes up that early. We owe you guys!

Saturday was disc golfing and pumpkin carving. I think they all turned out pretty well.

Here they all are…

Mickie’s was great. She did “Pumpkin Head Harvey” I was pretty impressed with how much it actually looked like my dad.

This one was for Jason…

It’s lightening MaQueen. Cachaw.

Will’s is bowser..

Pretty good, huuu?

Sundays dinner. Random picture I know. Will said he just wanted a picture of his family. Pot stickers, yummm.

We turned off the TV for the night again. You find some interesting things to do when you are not being entertained by the TV.

Lots of dancing…

Poor Will, Jason made him dance the whole entire CD which is 30 minutes long. Will was so tied by the end of it. But I think it was totally worth it.

Last but not least, we had Travis over to play Ticket to Ride. I pulled off the victory by one point. Will thought that he was going to win, but right in the end I pulled off the victory. Mwahahaha.

Cupcake anyone?

It’s Perfect

Yesterday I spent all day, (ok really Jason’s nap time, and a little of the night) making his costume. I was surprised it took me only 6 hours to make, and that even counts cutting and unpicking Velcro for 45 min. I put the Velcro on and then decided that it would be itchy, so I used snaps instead. We plan on him wearing the scrubs as pj’s after Halloween. They fit him so well. What a cute kid!

Last night Will and I did a lot of shopping. It really was just a lot of stores that we had to hit up. You know the standard of looking for bassinets, beds, doctors toys, etc. As you can tell we did find a stethoscope. Oh and that candy coupon did work. Will printed out a coupon and so did I, so we got 2 bags of good candy for $.16. What a deal! (Yes you had to pay tax. How funny is that)

Last night was the first time that I didn’t make it to the BYU class. The relief society had a little class on how to make ficcocia bread that I went to support. They did a pretty good job with it, but when they gave out samples to test what they made they gave use huge portions. So I had to choke down a whole pumpkin pancake.
What a great picture. The book is called “I’ll Always Love You.” He was feeling extra snuggly yesterday.
Anyways, this is Jason saying bye to Will. It is so cute. He knows when Will is going to leave. Will grabbed his shoes and Jason automatically said, “Bye dad.” He was trying to get rid of him early today I guess.
