Hairbows

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 8:07 am

I was really needing to get out of the house yesterday, so I called up Bobbie and asked her if she would like to make hair bows with me. She of course said yes so we fumbled our way through a ladybug, dragonfly, and butterfly. I had a great time and even came home and made a few more bows while the kids were napping.

I do have to thank my Aunt Linda. While we were making the clips she watched the kids. Let me tell you it was a crazy house. Thank you again for letting us take over your kitchen!

And a big thank you to Will. He took the scooter to work yesterday. So COLD!!! Burr!!!

Fakers!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 7:40 am

After nap time the kids decided to pretend that they were asleep. They are not very good fakers if you ask me. I wish that I got Sierra on the first try, she was a hoot.

Will’s Entry: Time

As we’re counting down the hours until the NBA season starts (literally, I’ve been thinking 11.5 hours, 8 hours, 2 hours, 1.25 hours all day), I’ve been thinking about one of the Wu’s parenting quirks.

Somewhere a long time ago, I read that it’s a good thing to give your kids advance notice when things are going to change.  I don’t mean big things, more like when dinner’s approaching or leaving the playground – that sort of things.  Anyway, Kristin and I are regularly giving 5, 2, & 1 minute warnings.  I think that has helped us as parents.  It always helps Jason and Sierra has been getting into the spirit of it as well.  I’m not certain she understands what it means, but she always responds to our “TWOOOOOO minutes!” with a very enthusiastic “OKAAAAAYYYY!!!”  I don’t know why I blogged about that but I just felt the need to post.

Another note:  the writers of Castle (TV show) thought a good good Halloween costume for its lead character would be to reprise his costume of the show Firefly.  My allergies kicked in, especially in the eye area . . .

LEAVES!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 7:55 am

It is the time of the year for leaves. One tree has fallen and is done, now 6 more trees to go. At least they fall at different times right? Last night Will and the kids played with leaves and raked them up…

If you are a little kid you have to throw the leaves! He found out the hard way that you don’t open your eyes while doing it. leaves2

Will has to take a break and throw around in the backyard…leaves4

Sierra was helping Will. She would pick up the pile and…leaves5

Moving it over here…leaves6

Sierra came inside pretty early to help me make some banana bread. Jason took longer to come inside. We did have hot chocolate to warm ourselves up after being in the cold. Jason loved it!leaves7

Halloween party

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 7:47 am

Mickies ward was doing a Halloween party. We decided to crash the party. Jason is an awesome ninja, Sierra is Boo, and I am Bell.

hal1 Here are all the princesses together… Mulan, Arura, Bell, and Cinderella.hal2 We had to get out on the dance floor and see how well the dresses twirl. I don’t care how old you are in a dress like that it is fun to twirl!hal3Slackers… not dancing or dressed up.hal4 Jason had a great time. He ate all the cookies he wanted under the stage…hal5 And he dance a ton. He never really danced with me. Maybe he was embarrassed :) hal6

My parents were here for the football game. It really was a short trip this time. We saw them Friday evening, saturday, and then they left on Sunday.

Yesterday was the children’s program during sacrament meeting. Jason was funny to watch. Half way through the program he had to go to the bathroom. He would do the tail tell signs; sit down, rock, and then stand back up to sing. The primary president asked him if he had to go and of course he said no. Finally after another 5 min they got him to walk down and have Will help him. Will had 3 people tell him how fun it was to watch Jason. Yes he was a little on the active side…

He did really well during his speaking turn. He said,  ”I can strengthen my family through family prayer.”

Boo doll

Filed under: Uncategorized — by Kristin @ 7:27 am

As promised here is a picture of my hair. It is darker…

hair Sierra for Halloween is going to be Boo from Monsters inc. It is not a very recognisable character, so I had to do something to help people out. Last night I made a Little Mikey bear for her to hold. I think she is freaked out by it, but Jason loves it. He has been caring it around all morning calling it the “Boo Doll”  Well at least one kid likes it?!?!little mikey
