Swimming Lessons

23 Jul

Yeah, we had a feeling that swimming lessons would not go so well yesterday, and they didn’t. We warned Karla, so she knew and they were off. Jason was ready to never get in the pool. He screamed about half the time. Poor Karla’s ears! Here are a few of the happy times!

Jason does know that he needs to hold his breath under the water, so that is a good sign. She would take Jason and pogo under the water. He would scream as she said 1, 2, (hold his breath) 3, under the water, come back up and continue screaming. They did it about 20 times. I am glad that he is learning even if he doesn’t want to be there.

We are taking a break from the lessons today. She doesn’t want to be the bad guy. That won’t help him learn. The plan is for my mom and I to take him in the pool today and do the same kind of stuff that she has been doing.  Hopefully he will understand that it is ok with some one he trusts.

We took in cookies to my dads work. They hardly get treats. Yesterday was a treat day. We saw 3 other desserts there. Oh well, they were just snicker-doodles.

Other things of note. The Schmidts came over for dinner. Jason loved playing with the older kids, but Sierra did not. She was off in her own “I’m a princess world.” Poor Even, anytime he would come close to her she would scream like there was no tomorrow.

We just played until bedtime… “I am coming to get you”

Playing golf…

I’m going to get you!

What is up with that leg????

Just hanging out.

It was interesting to see what songs Jason knew and what ones he didn’t know from nursery.

He was watching TV.

Poor Jason! Madeline is 4.5 and she still refuses and hates to go under the water. Eventually they will like it, right!?

Great photos of your mom and dad playing with the kiddos, looks like they’re really enjoying them. They have such a cool backyard, I remember it from Mickie and Nate’s weddings. And Madeline found those horses at your parents house, I think I even have photos of her on them!

Yup found the photo with your mom’s horses…it was at Nate and Kelly’s wedding back in Aug 2005. Wow Madeline looks so little, next to her is another Spence, our nephew Noah.

Sierra’s pony tail looks like a little water spout. I still don’t like going under the water. I can’t breathe under there.
