Will’s Entry: Fun Times

27 Feb

Cute picture of Jason, right?  Wrong!!!  Let me go back and explain.  Kristin had one of her Macey’s classes last night so I was left with the kids.  Usually we’d go to a playground or something but since Sierra was still tired, we made a night of it at home.  I always struggle with ideas for what to do with them.  So here goes:

We made CATAPULTS!!!  (Are capitalization and exclamation pts necessary?  I think so.)  We had many failed attempts (spatulas, wooden spoons, plastic track taped to golf club, etc.) not to mention that it was difficult finding the proper items to serve as the fulcrum (bottom part).  Well after a lot of trial and error, you can see that we  had a great time.

Now you may be wondering why his eyes are closed at the moment of truth.  Well, I told him not to use his feet because he would stomp on it and it came close to hitting his face.  I guess he needed to learn that lesson for himself, hence the first picture.  Don’t worry, nothing permanent and I think it was all worth it, though he flinches when the ball flies now.

PS – Did you notice both balls in motion?

You are a great dad! That is hilarious! I can’t wait to see you teach him to make volcano–typical science fair project.

I was wondering what happened to his cheek. Great idea. I’ll have to save that for Brooke some day.

I was so pleased to see someone else who used kitchen utensils when playing with kids this week. Did you happen to get smacked too or only Jason?!

It looks like one of those is headed strait for Sierra! She looks terrified. Then she comes down with the chicken pox! Poor thing can’t catch a break.
