Will’s Entry: Halloween 2010

3 Nov

Our Saturday morning got off to an interesting start.  Sierra woke up in the middle of the night puking.  It was weird and after a couple of incidents Kristin and I started the day good and tired.

Now any other day, we would have taken pretty easy but this was the day we celebrate Halloween and by golly, we were going to get maximum use of the costumes that Kristin and her mom put so much effort to create!  So first we went to Borders to meet up with Bobbie and her munchkins and get a free Glitter Ball.  Probably not worth it but it was a good appetizer to the days’ festivities.

From there we went to Bobbie’s church for a little Trunk-or-Treat action.  I was the designated candy distributor while Bobbie and Kristin escorted the kids around.  The weather wasn’t the best but I think we had fun.  We gave out glow sticks this year and I think they were a hit.

We grabbed a Little Caesars cheap pizza and then hit the mall.  We’ve never Trick-or-Treated at a mall and it was a neat experience.  Personally I enjoyed it.  Lots of candy, lots of costumes and no bad weather to worry about.  Wrangling the kids was an adventure but not too bad.

About a minute out of the parking lot, Sierra crashed.  Poor little one had plenty of fun for Halloween 2010.

Now for some of the things I wonder:

  • I wonder how Jason will treat Elena in 6 months.  He absolutely adores her right now and always wants to kiss and hold her.
  • I wonder if Elena’s hair will be curly like Sierra.
  • I wonder if Elena will be closer to her brother who is closer in age or to her sister.
  • How does Radio Shack stay in business?

Did Elena dress up as anything for Halloween? I never heard nor did I see any pictures. Really for a newborn their arent many options but I was just wondering. Going to the Mall was a good idea looks like QUITE the crowd. Jason was a great Jedi and Sierra was the cutest Minnie ever! Ty would have loved to go with you guys too. He started getting it near the end all though he had NO IDEA what he was getting… nor did he get any of the candy that he scored, it was jolly ranchers and suckers.

Looks like it was good time had by all, even sicky C-ra!

But…mall candy was always the cheap candy, because they had soooo many kids to give too. And I could imagine even worse in Utah. My kids wanted to trick or treat houses, they had much better candy, especially the Carson’s across the street! But the mall sounds like a good plan when the weather is yucky!
